Current Practice

In his recent practice, Bai increasingly works by building systems through which ideas and experiences can be explored. Personal memories, perception, and observation enter into working structures involving sound, images, materials, and software. Through making, testing, observation, and ongoing revision, the works gradually take shape. Rather than simply carrying out predetermined outcomes, these systems allow unexpected changes and the artist's own decisions to become part of the process.

近年的创作更侧重于通过建立系统来展开实践。柏志威将个人经验、感知与观察带入声音、图像、材料和程序构成的工作结构之中，并在持续的制作、测试、研究与修正中推进作品。系统并非仅用于执行预先设定的结果，它在运行中产生的变化，以及艺术家的判断和介入，共同影响着作品最终的形态。
